Web Development Process

Top uses user centred development process, that means client involvement in the website design process is of paramount importance, however the way we work with our clients allows them to be involved as little or as much as they choose, depending on their own level of expertise and of course time restrictions.

The Process

Stage 1: Analysis

A meeting between London Top Design  and the client is arranged for an initial discussion and to brainstorm about the website design, functionality, budget and timing requirements. This can be done in person or through email and telephone.

Stage 2: Proposal

The proposal is compiled by London Top Design, after collating the full client brief, which details web and graphic design ideas, amount of pages, self updateable sections, the final price, and the production processes required to achieve the end result. We liaise with our website designers to document the key phases of the project, timing and invoice plans through to completion.

Stage 3: Contract Signing
Once the client is satisfied with the London Top proposal, a contract is signed to commence with website design.

Stage 4: Research and Analysis
Once a contract has been signed, London Top Research/Usability Team embark on thorough research and analysis, we benchmark (compare your results to your competitors), we research on your industry to find more information about your audience and targeted market. London Top Research  and Usability Team then presents the information to the client in charts and diagrams before it is implemented.

Stage 5: Design and Development

London Top Developers get to work, several designs are developed, the client is allowed to choose, the concept is further developed ready for coding.

London Top is different unlike many design companies, here you find a combination of software engineers and graphics designers. Therefore depending on the kind of project we are dealing with; we choose a methodology (framework) that we can use

Some of the methodologies we use are; Feature Driven Development framework and SSADM. Out of these methodologies, we have developed our own methodology called G2G Methodology which is flexible and allows us develop application rapidly.

Stage 6:Testing

We then design test to allow us to thoroughly test a website. We do;

•    Functionality Testing.
This has to do with functionality of the system. Is the website doing what it was meant to do?

•    Usability Testing

We have a group of people ranging from basic users who know nothing about information technology to advanced users who know all the intricacies of the web and computing to test the website. We note down their findings, criticisms and suggestions and we use these results to improve the system

Stage 7

The website is uploaded into the remote server so that people can view it online

Future Website Maintenance

You will have a password protected area so you can have the flexibility to modify the website text and images easily and rapidly yourself without any programming skills whatsoever. If you prefer our own professional website designers to make the changes, we have a maintenance package for you
